(Cover) - EN Star Style - Alexa Chung doesnt want to be admired because of her slim physique.

The 26-year-old model-and-television-presenter regularly features on the best-dressed lists of fashion magazines, and last year the slender star hit the headlines for looking particularly slim.

Alexa knows she is a role model for young girls, and says it upsets her that they may look at her slight frame and aspire to be like her.

It angers me because I dont want to be a pin-up for young girls just for being thin. I dont want to be admired for being thin, as opposed to being dressed well, and I dont want the two to get confused, she told the British edition of Elle.

Alexa insists it was never her intention to get so slim, explaining that her weight loss last year was actually the result of a hectic workload. The beautiful British star was living in America where she was presenting MTVs It's On with Alexa Chung, and the pressures of her busy career meant she became thinner than she would have liked.

I am naturally very thin. I get even thinner when Im stressed. And you cannot imagine how stressed I was last year. It was really f**king hard work and I had to keep saying how great MTV was, how I was having the best time, when looking like Im dying, she confessed.

The fashionista also discussed her collaboration with US fashion retailer Madewell, with whom she launched a range this year evoking her kooky vintage style. Alexa says its very important to her that she truly believes in any partnerships she involves herself with, revealing she has declined offers from numerous brands who wanted to latch onto her style credentials as she didnt agree with the company ethos.

Its stuff that I really want to wear. I wouldnt just use my name to showcase a lot of c**p. Ive always loved fashion, but I turned down so many collaborations. Its all tied up in integrity, she explained. (C) Cover Media
