Vimal is rising fast to stardom in Kollywood. The Kalavani and Thoonganagaram hero now has at least four projects in hand. All of them sound promising and circles close to the actor say 2012 would be very important in his career.

Currently busy shooting for Ishtam, a Tamil remake of Tollywood hit Yemaindi Ee Vela, Vimal will soon start shooting for Neerparaivagal, a movie to be directed by Seenu Ramasamy, who had wielded the megaphone for the national award winning Thenmerku Paruvakatru.

He has also been roped in for a couple of other movies, titled Anaithukkum Aasaipadu and Unmai Sonnal Nesippaya. While the first film is a hilarious entertainer, the second project, directed by newcomer Ravi, will be a love story set in the backdrop of Tirupur and Erode.

Vimal's last release in Tamil was Vaagai Sooda Vaa, a period film directed by Sargunam, with whom he had worked for Kalavani last year. In an interview recently, the actor said, "I am happy with the way my career is taking shape in Tamil film industry. I am thankful to everyone concerned."
