Lindsay Lohan rejects plea bargain

10th March 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Lindsay Lohan will return to court on April 22, after rejecting a plea agreement in her in her grand theft case.

The star arrived late to the courtroom in Los Angeles on Thursday to inform Superior Court Judge Keith Schwartz that she didnt wish to accept a plea agreement, which would include an automatic jail sentence.

The 24-year-old will return to court next month, where prosecutors will present evidence against her.

However if she chooses to accept the plea bargain within the next two weeks, Lindsay will return to the courtroom on March 23.

The Mean Girls actress has been on probation following pleading not guilty to the charge earlier this month of taking a necklace worth $2,500 from a store in Venice, California.

At the time shop workers reported the lost necklace to police, who made moves to search Lindsays rented home in Venice. The piece of jewellery was later handed in to police. Last week a surveillance tape showing the actress in the store was sold to Entertainment Tonight, who broadcasted the footage on their website.

It is not known whether the footage will affect the outcome of the trial. (C) Cover Media
